Orientation

The NeighborWorks® HomeOwnership Center at Central Vermont Community Land Trust offers a free, no-obligation orientation designed to provide an overview of all the services of the HomeOwnership Center. Get started on the path of home ownership by filling out a personal profile at one of our Orientations today. Orientations are offered twice a month.

Workshop

Our day-long, HUD approved workshop is designed to take you step-by-step through the homebuying process and help you determine if homeownership is right for you. The agenda topics include budget and credit information, mortgage options, purchase and sale contracts, home inspection, home maintenance and safety tips. Completion of the workshop is followed by one or more individualized counseling sessions tailored to the buyers' personal financial circumstances. The ultimate objective is to get homebuyers mortgage application ready and to help them become successful, long-term homeowners. There is a $60 per household fee for the workshop.

In addition to the program's academic benefits, homebuyers also receive a certificate from the NeighborWorks® HomeOwnership Center which reduces the down payment amount, on VHFA loans.

Homeland Grant

Eligible households may also apply for financial assistance for closing costs, and down payment grant awards of up to $40,000.00.
